About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations. Additionally, the Staff Accountant is responsible for supervising other areas within the Finance Department under the direction of the Assistant Director of Finance, including payroll, accounts payable, and general cashiering in accordance with all related local and corporate policies and procedures. The Accounting office structure may vary and responsibilities will be adapted as required. Assist Assistant Director of Finance with maintaining the effectiveness of internal controls to safeguard the assets and resources of the hotel. Actively support other department managers with matters dealing with labor standards, payroll, and other issues that may arise. Good understanding of Month-End Process, including but not limited to preparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals. Be familiar with the program of records control, security, retention and disposal in accordance with hotel policy and procedures. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance. Reconcile and prepare owner income statements on a monthly basis. Ensure all invoices are properly allocated to their respective budgets.

Requirements

  • College education or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) to five (5) years experience with a Finance Department
  • Hotel experience required
  • Ability to read and speak and write English and Spanish.
  • Must have valid United States work authorization

Responsibilities
