Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
  • Experience with accounts payable and general accounting responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval.
  • Process accounts payable transactions and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and proactively resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounting system transactions to maintain accurate and complete financial records.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports, daily cash reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including preparing accounts payable-related journal entries.
  • Assist the Controller and Finance Director with internal and external audits related to purchasing and accounts payable.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Support other accounting functions as needed, including customer billing, accounts receivable postings, collections, expense reports, deposits, and internal financial communications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
