About The Position

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Spring Migration Engineer to join its team in Austin, Texas. The role owns the migration strategy and execution for complex, business-critical Java applications moving to Spring and Spring Boot. It defines target architecture, modernization roadmaps, migration waves, and technical standards across programs, while assessing legacy codebases, identifying risks and dependencies, and designing phased rollout and rollback approaches to protect availability. The engineer guides teams through legacy application refactoring and modernization, including testing, configuration, security, and performance tuning. The role partners with product, architecture, business, and engineering leaders to align outcomes and enable zero-downtime deployments; mentors engineers and provides technical leadership through design reviews, implementation guidance, and delivery oversight; and promotes repeatable migration tooling, engineering practices, and operational readiness. Travel requirements depend on project needs. The position offers a starting pay range of $99,562–$184,375 per year. Compensation may also include incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. Requirements

At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience with Java and enterprise application platforms, including Tomcat, and a deep understanding of object-oriented design principles.
At least 5 years of hands-on Spring Framework and Spring Boot experience, including migration or modernization delivery.
At least 5 years of experience analyzing legacy codebases, defining target architectures, and leading phased migrations.
At least 4 years of experience with Maven and enterprise build and dependency management.
At least 3 years of experience working with relational databases, including Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
