About The Position

Work as part of a development team in the Systems Engineering department which includes support of requirement development, design and architecture generation, test, integration, and certification of complex systems installed on airborne platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and a minimum of 4 years related work experience, or Graduate Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or Minimum of 8 years of prior work experience in a directly applicable field.
  • Baseline understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn and integrate new systems.

Nice To Haves

  • A Secret Clearance
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is highly desirable
  • Prior experience integrating mission systems on airborne platforms.
  • DOORS experience
  • Digital Databus Standards (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553) experience
  • Experience conducting first article verification testing
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
  • Experience working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
  • Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead teams through a system development and integration cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop physical architectures incorporating mission system equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers.
  • Translate customer and airworthiness requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements
  • Lead Program Integrated Product Teams of cross-disciplined engineers with internal and external members
  • Become a focal point for conversation with the customer on technical issues
  • Define requirement traceability methods
  • Perform the systems engineering trade study process
  • Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness
  • Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design
  • Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals
  • Ability to use standard Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Ability to operate within a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM); TeamCenter preferred
