About The Position

The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining, managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows, and/or Linux systems in secure program areas in the Wilmington facility. Duties include installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and maintaining Windows/Linux and VMWare, as well as maintaining engineering software tools. This person must be able to communicate technical concerns and solutions to various levels of management, engineering, and security teams, as well as lead IT projects at local level. Perform other IT duties as required. This position is fully on-site; there are no opportunities for hybrid work. Travel is expected to be 10-15% depending on program needs or priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • Active Secret security clearance or higher required
  • Current CompTIA Security+ Certification or ability to get one in the first 6 months of employment.
  • 4+ years experience supporting configuration and maintenance of Windows operating systems, networking protocols, PowerShell, and security best practices.
  • Professional experience supporting RedHat, CentOs or Ubuntu Linux.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly is preferred.
  • Experience with Wyse Management Suite.
  • Active Directory and GPO management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts and working principles.
  • Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, Network Certification a plus.
  • Experience with SCCM.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day support of desktop and Server Microsoft Windows environments in a closed environment, virtual or physical.
  • Manage assigned Tickets in ServiceNow at required SLA levels, elevate tickets to high level of support as required.
  • Direct front-end support to users, first level support for desktop and server related items such as application issues and other IT related issues to include application, voice (phone) and data access issues.
  • Deliver new systems, remove equipment as required following the processes dictated by the security team.
  • Support ongoing projects to replace or upgrade existing server equipment as required.
  • Assist with RMF and ICD503 compliance as required by security.
  • Ability to travel between L3Harris Facilities inside the Wilmington Area.
  • Subject Matter Expert responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Windows systems while ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and availability.
  • Implement regular system updates and patches, minimize vulnerabilities, and maintain compliance with industry and Security Compliance standards
  • Monitor system health and proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
