About The Position

This role combines sourcing operations and production planning responsibilities, supporting end-to-end production execution across an assigned portfolio of factories. The Senior Specialist will manage purchase order (PO) processes, monitor production performance, and ensure alignment with VF’s quality standards, production timelines, and operational expectations. As the primary on-site liaison, you will support the monitoring of production activities, perform structured and routine tasks to enable real-time issue resolution, enforce adherence to SOPs, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while escalating any deviations. You will work closely with brands, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and drive execution excellence. This position requires frequent travel to factory sites across designated locations.

Requirements

Knowledge of the product category within the scope of this role with proven experience - understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and construction methods; experience in the field of production operations or technical roles
Experience working with overseas factories, and a multi-cultural factory management team
Strong communication skills, ability to solve problems, make decisions and work effectively under pressure
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Able to collaborate with peers and superiors while building relationships with individuals and organizations across the globe
Proficient in Microsoft Office, PLM systems, and production planning tools
Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required for travel to vendor locations (mileage reimbursement provided); ability to travel extensively within the region (~30%)
2+ years of experience and professional achievements

Responsibilities

Own PO management, including creation, exceptions, and change requests.
Monitor end-to-end production to ensure OTP/CRD, quality, and operational targets are met; track KPIs, escalate issues, and drive corrective actions.
Identify risks during pre-production and drive mitigation actions.
Collaborate with vendors, factories, and cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery.
Resolve daily production issues (e.g., materials, capacity, output) in real time.
Ensure adherence to SOPs, product standards, and support high-risk production start-ups.
Support automation, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain vendor performance (scorecards, audits) and support compliance programs (RSO, sustainability).
Provide reporting, analytics, and actionable insights to management.
Support QA on root cause analysis and CAP implementation.
