About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Specialist Systems Engineer / Platform Engineer to support system sustainment for the MOSSAIC C2 Space Domain Awareness mission and its Space Mission Platform at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. The role supports and maintains enterprise infrastructure across hybrid and private cloud environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows systems, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Ansible automation, and Kubernetes-based container platforms. The position calls for strong troubleshooting abilities, a focus on automation and operational excellence, and experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. The position is scheduled for 5/8: employees work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. A Top Secret SCI clearance and Security+ CE or a higher DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification are required; a CI Poly is preferred. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or at least 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Top Secret SCI clearance.
DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 professional certification: Security+ CE or higher.
Experience administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows in a production enterprise environment.
Hands-on experience supporting VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), version 9 and above.
Experience using Ansible for system administration automation, configuration management, deployments, patching, and infrastructure support.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and experience supporting containerized applications, cluster operations, workload deployments, platform troubleshooting, and VCF automation and operations.
Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience operating within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, including team ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery.

Certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Network+, VMware, Microsoft, or other relevant infrastructure and systems certifications.
Proficiency with endpoint management, detection, and response tools such as McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).
Experience authoring detection logic in SIEM platforms and developing automated responses using SOAR tools.
Familiarity with ACAS, Nessus, and OpenVAS for vulnerability management.
Experience with Palo Alto and Juniper network appliances.
Working knowledge of RMF, POA&M processes, and compliance reporting.

Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows operating systems in a production enterprise environment, including system configuration, patching, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
Support virtualized infrastructure using VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), version 9 and above.
Use Ansible to automate system administration, configuration management, application deployments, patching, and repeatable infrastructure support activities.
Support Kubernetes architecture and containerized applications, including cluster operations, workload deployments, and platform troubleshooting.
Support VMware Cloud Foundation automation and operations across private cloud environments.
Use Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting for automation and analysis.
Participate in SAFe team ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery of work.
