About The Position

The spacecraft hardware technician assembles, installs, tests, and inspects spacecraft, or related components and subsystems. This role works from engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards to ensure every product meets strict safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
[4+] years of experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or precision manufacturing
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
U.S. person status required for ITAR/EAR-controlled work

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or certificate in aviation maintenance, avionics, or a related technical field
IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 certification (for electronics/wiring roles)
Familiarity with AS9100 standards
Experience with ERP/MRO software

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, and integrate mechanical, electrical, and/or structural components per work instructions, and schematics
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications
Assist with functional tests, calibrations, and troubleshooting on systems and subassemblies
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, gauges)
Install and route wire harnesses
Document work accurately in work instructions
Identify and report nonconformances, and support corrective actions with Quality and Engineering
Maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with FOD (foreign object debris) and 5S practices
Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures
Support continuous improvement and, where applicable, mentor junior technicians
