About The Position

The Senior Solutions Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and providing production support for data integration and processing solutions that support the UCL data platform and its upstream and downstream consumers. The role works primarily with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), SQL/PLSQL, Oracle Cloud/OCI, data integration pipelines, and enterprise data sources, moving and transforming financial data through controlled development and release processes. The developer independently analyzes complex data requirements, designs efficient SQL and data-processing solutions, troubleshoots data and performance issues, and collaborates with Finance, Technology, architecture, testing, and vendor teams. The position operates within a controlled enterprise SDLC and supports traceability, documentation, risk and regulatory controls, and safe promotion of application changes across development, testing, certification, preproduction, and production environments. The role is based at the Seneca One location in Buffalo, New York, four days onsite per week, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and at least 5 years of solutions development and/or relevant enterprise technology experience; or a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of such experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years of education and/or relevant work experience, including at least 3 years of solutions development and/or relevant enterprise technology experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one relevant platform.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle database development, and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW).
  • Experience with complex SQL optimization and performance tuning.
  • Experience developing ETL/ELT solutions and data integrations and transformations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain SQL/PLSQL and Oracle ADW data-processing solutions, including queries, transformations, views, extracts, and data-loading processes.
  • Develop and support ETL/ELT and data integration pipelines between enterprise sources and Oracle ADW, including Snowflake-to-ADW integration.
  • Analyze source-to-target requirements, mappings, transformation logic, filters, joins, reconciliation rules, and downstream extract requirements.
  • Partner with downstream consumers to clarify data requirements, fields, filters, frequency, timing, validation criteria, and delivery expectations.
  • Investigate and resolve data-quality, transformation, reconciliation, and SQL defects, identifying whether causes originate in source data, business logic, integration logic, or downstream processing.
  • Troubleshoot Oracle ADW performance, including long-running SQL, execution plans, CPU/I/O contention, parallel execution, temporary-space utilization, and database bottlenecks.
  • Design solutions to support increasing data volume, processing frequency, batch-runtime, and SLA requirements, including movement toward more frequent or daily processing.
  • Support integration between UCL and platforms including Oracle DIS, Oracle DFCS, Snowflake, Workiva, Axiom, Alteryx, OCI, and other enterprise sources and consumers as required by the application architecture.
  • Participate in development, unit testing, SIT, UAT/CERT, release, deployment, and production validation, supporting safe promotion across DEV, TEST/SIT, CERT/UAT, PREPROD, and PROD.
  • Diagnose production and lower-environment issues involving SQL logic, data discrepancies, interfaces, batch processing, performance, configuration, and data dependencies, and coordinate resolution with appropriate teams.

  • Understand and follow company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls; identify risk-related issues that require escalation.
  • Promote a culture of belonging that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and applicable issues raised by external regulators.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
