About The Position

Automox is seeking a Senior Solutions Consultant to join its Customer Experience team. The role combines product expertise and understanding of customer goals to deliver value throughout the customer lifecycle, build lasting customer relationships, identify opportunities, and advocate internally for solutions that meet customers’ changing needs. The company is fully distributed, with remote employees; it currently does not hire in California or the New York metro area. The Senior Solutions Consultant independently leads customer onboarding, platform implementation, solution optimization, and performance reviews. The position assesses customer environments and configures Automox policies, device groups, and patching workflows. It provides technical leadership and platform education, partners with Customer Success Managers to improve adoption, investigates endpoint and patching issues, and coordinates escalations. The consultant also documents engagements, creates reusable technical resources, contributes scripts and software deployment content to Automox catalogs, and helps improve service delivery and internal tooling. The listed base salary range is $110,000–$140,000 USD. Total compensation also includes bonus, equity, and benefits. Candidates must pass federal, state, and county background checks and complete a local in-person verification. Automox is unable to sponsor work visas at this time.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of proven experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Systems Administration, Desktop Support, Solutions Engineering, or a comparable technical IT role.
  • Expert proficiency in at least one core operating system—Windows, macOS, or Linux—including administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and update management.
  • Production patch management experience, including deployment planning, testing, maintenance windows, reboot coordination, and troubleshooting failed updates.
  • Skill in diagnosing and resolving advanced technical issues, developing custom solutions, and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Experience working closely with support, engineering, and customer success teams.
  • Hands-on experience with endpoint or configuration management tools such as Automox, MECM/SCCM, Intune, WSUS, Jamf, NinjaOne, ManageEngine, BigFix, Tanium, or Ansible.
  • Clear communication with technical and business stakeholders, from system administrators to C-level executives.
  • Ability to own engagements, manage competing priorities, follow through, collaborate, expand current skills, and contribute broadly to team and company objectives.
  • Ability to pass federal, state, and county background checks and complete a local in-person verification.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior external consulting experience.
  • Familiarity with GitHub/Git, Jira, and customer success, CRM, or service delivery tools such as ChurnZero, Gainsight, Salesforce, or Rocketlane.
  • Experience writing original scripts, working with APIs, Python, or Go, and administering multiple operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead customer onboarding, platform implementation, solution optimization, and ongoing performance reviews.
  • Assess customer environments and build Automox policies, device groups, and patching workflows aligned with operational needs.
  • Build customer trust through technical leadership, platform education, and clear guidance, including during challenging conversations.
  • Partner with Customer Success Managers to address technical barriers, improve adoption, and maximize customer outcomes.
  • Investigate patching and endpoint issues, document findings, and coordinate timely escalations to Support and Engineering.
  • Maintain clear engagement documentation and create reusable knowledge base articles, scripts, and technical guidance.
  • Read, troubleshoot, and modify PowerShell or Bash scripts; contribute scripts and software deployment content to the Worklet and Third-Party Software catalogs.
  • Improve service delivery and internal tooling, and contribute to shared technical projects and knowledge sharing.
