The role supports designs and architectures for large next-generation GPU-based clusters that enable AI supercomputers and enterprise AI infrastructure. The architect serves as a technical expert connecting NVIDIA GPU and NVLink technology and software solutions with engineering and field teams, supporting customers with demanding requirements. Work includes end-to-end cluster design and architecture, performance modeling, validation, and new product introduction (NPI) cluster deployments. The role influences how leading enterprises build infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in cluster design, validation, and issue resolution, specifically involving GPU and HPC clusters.
  • Proven expertise designing large-scale distributed systems, AI clusters, or HPC infrastructure.
  • Ability to communicate technical details to technical leaders and customer executives.
  • Ability to coordinate communications across customers, product teams, support teams, engineering teams, and other functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading large-scale AI Factory or HPC cluster bring-ups or builds.
  • Hands-on experience with NVIDIA products, including GPUs, NVLink, and NVIDIA Networking, especially debugging deployment issues involving NVLink.
  • Knowledge of NCCL, MPI, IMEX, NMX, and collectives in distributed training as they relate to cluster designs.
  • External customer-facing skills and background.
  • Effective time management and the ability to balance multiple tasks and customers while creatively debugging and solving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to design GPU clusters covering compute, networking, and storage, from large-scale AI training clusters to modular inference clusters.
  • Work closely with OEMs to support successful first deployments of new products, including new network architectures and topologies.
  • Provide feedback to product and engineering teams on reference architectures, deployment, and performance.
  • Perform hands-on work to help enterprises debug issues related to cluster design and configuration.
  • Support customer deployments of new GPU and networking architectures as part of NPI.
