About The Position

Join our Near Patient Care R&D organization, where we develop state-of-the-art diagnostic products together and shape the future of digital healthcare. As a Senior Software Verification Engineer (m/f/d), you will ensure the quality and compliance of our embedded firmware solutions, contributing directly to improving patients' lives.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed a degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
  • Professional experience in software testing (6-8 years with a Bachelor's; 5-7 years with a Master's; 3-5 years with a PhD), ideally within a regulated environment (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in firmware testing, embedded design, and implementing automated test frameworks.
  • Experienced with defect management within firmware/software development.
  • Business fluency in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols, functional safety, and cybersecurity is highly preferred.
  • Passionate about quality in embedded systems and can solve complex technical challenges independently.
  • Enjoy working in agile, globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assume end-to-end responsibility for the software verification of complex medical devices and decide on the use of future-oriented technologies.
  • Planning, execution, and documentation of software tests throughout the entire development lifecycle, focusing on flexible and expandable architectures.
  • Ensure full traceability and coverage of system-level requirements for high-quality embedded digital solutions.
  • Define, implement and lead device-level automation test frameworks, including CI/CD integration, to enable the rapid and safe delivery of firmware updates.
  • Drive the defect management process by overseeing reporting and resolution workflows.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for firmware verification defects, ensuring all issues undergo rigorous risk analysis and are thoroughly documented.
  • Define and lead the verification strategy for wireless communication (BLE) and cybersecurity standards, ensuring compliance through risk-based testing.
  • Provide technical guidance to agile testing teams, including internal resources and third-party suppliers.
  • Establish standards for the Near Patient Care department, and promote knowledge sharing through training and consulting.
