About The Position

Team Discover owns a core part of the customer journey at intersport.de, including search, navigation, category pages, filters, and recommendations. This work directly impacts how customers explore products and contributes to business growth. The team is a small, empowered product team with end-to-end ownership, taking responsibility for what they build and its performance in production. The company is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong frontend expertise who enjoys solving product-relevant problems, working across the stack, and taking real ownership.

Requirements

• Several years of experience building and shipping complex web applications
• Strong frontend expertise with modern TypeScript based frameworks
• Solid full stack engineering skills and willingness to work across frontend and backend
• Experience with server side rendering and performance oriented web development
• Good understanding of system design, APIs, databases and cloud based architectures
• Product mindset and the ability to balance technical quality with business impact
• Ability to ensure observability of systems in production, including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting
• Experience with backend technologies such as Kotlin / Spring Boot, event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka), and cloud environments (AWS), or strong ability to ramp up quickly
• High level of ownership, self direction and comfort working in an autonomous team
• Strong communication skills in German and English

Nice To Haves

• Experience with microfrontend architectures
• Experience with Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code
• Experience in ecommerce or product discovery environments
• Experience using AI tools pragmatically to improve development workflows, productivity, and code quality

Responsibilities

• Build and improve user facing experiences across search, navigation, category pages, filters, and recommendations
• Develop and maintain frontend applications with a strong focus on performance, scalability and usability
• Contribute to backend services, APIs, and event driven systems where needed
• Help shape technical decisions across architecture, tooling and build vs buy questions
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to define and deliver impactful solutions
• Take ownership from idea to production, including quality, performance and operational stability
