About The Position
The Senior Software Security Engineer implements, tests, and operates software using advanced security techniques in compliance with the technical reference architecture. The role enhances software systems through ongoing security testing, code reviews, debugging, design, and development of new or modified software. It provides engineering designs to help mitigate vulnerabilities, contributes across architecture levels, maintains technical documentation, collaborates with team members on secure coding practices, and develops familiarity with new tools and best practices.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with current Polygraph.
- Twenty years of experience planning and leading Software Engineering efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or four additional years of software engineering experience in place of a bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of six years of demonstrated experience, within the most recent eight years, developing production software for Solaris or Linux environments.
- Six years of experience developing software using Java, C, or C++.
- Experience developing RESTful services.
- Experience developing infrastructure as code.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Java development experience.
- Kubernetes experience.
Nice To Haves
- Demonstrated work experience with open-source NoSQL products such as HBase, Accumulo, or Bigtable.
- Previous experience developing analytics applications.
Responsibilities
- Implement, test, and operate software using advanced security techniques in compliance with the technical reference architecture.
- Perform ongoing security testing and participate in code reviews to improve software security and features.
- Debug, design, and code new software or modify existing software.
- Provide and recommend engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Contribute at all levels of the architecture and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate with team members and exchange knowledge on secure coding practices.
- Develop familiarity with new tools and best practices.
