About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to implement, test, and operate software using advanced security techniques in compliance with the technical reference architecture. The role focuses on enhancing software systems through ongoing security testing, code reviews, debugging, design, and development of new or existing software. The engineer will recommend designs that mitigate security vulnerabilities, contribute across all levels of the architecture, maintain technical documentation, collaborate with teammates on secure coding practices, and develop familiarity with new tools and best practices.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current Polygraph.
• Twenty years of experience planning and leading Software Engineering efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or four additional years of software engineering experience in substitution.
• At least six years of demonstrated experience within the most recent eight years developing production software for Solaris or Linux environments.
• Six years of experience developing software using Java, C, or C++.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated work experience with open-source NoSQL products such as HBase/Accumulo or Bigtable.
• Experience developing RESTful services.
• Experience developing infrastructure as code.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Java development experience.
• Kubernetes experience.
• Previous experience developing analytics applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test, and operate software using advanced software security techniques in compliance with the technical reference architecture.
• Perform ongoing security testing and participate in code reviews to improve software security and features.
• Debug, design, and code new software or modify existing software.
• Provide and recommend engineering designs for software solutions that help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Contribute across all levels of the architecture and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with team members and exchange knowledge on secure coding practices.
• Develop familiarity with new tools and best practices.
