About The Position
Kaleidoscope, an Infosys Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications and services. The role calls for hands-on experience with Java, the Spring ecosystem, Azure cloud services, databases, and event-driven architecture. The engineer will help design modern distributed systems, build secure and reliable APIs, and use AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity. Some positions may also involve Python and Databricks. The engineer will own complex technical assignments from design through deployment, make sound technical decisions, address performance and reliability issues, and promote engineering best practices. The role also includes collaboration with architects, product managers, technical and business stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams, as well as mentoring other engineers. The company states that it is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience in Java application development.
- Hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications using Azure Container Apps and/or Azure Functions.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably Azure Cosmos DB.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka or Azure Event Hubs.
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub, including GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
- Experience developing, testing, and troubleshooting production applications and APIs.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools and their practical application in software engineering.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Python and Databricks for applicable positions.
- Experience designing and implementing microservices and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of cloud security, application monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and API testing.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
- Build and deploy cloud-native applications and serverless solutions using Azure Container Apps and/or Azure Functions.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs and microservices for scalable, distributed applications.
- Design and optimize relational database solutions using SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Work with NoSQL databases, including Azure Cosmos DB, to meet application data requirements.
- Develop event-driven applications and distributed messaging solutions using Apache Kafka and/or Azure Event Hubs.
- Build and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Apply software engineering best practices for code quality, testing, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Use AI-assisted developer tools for coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable software solutions.
- For select positions, develop Python-based applications and work with Databricks for data processing and analytics.
- Mentor other engineers, participate in technical design discussions, and contribute to engineering standards.
- Take ownership of complex technical assignments from design through deployment.
- Make sound technical decisions and recommend scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Identify and resolve performance, reliability, and production issues.
- Promote engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Support and mentor other engineers while contributing directly to hands-on development.
