Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
JR Recruiting is partnering with a leading global company in the supply chain space to hire multiple Senior Software Engineers. This role supports a newly approved growth initiative and offers the opportunity to join on the ground floor and help shape the direction of a strategic platform. The team is building an intelligent, AI-driven planning platform that helps customers make smarter decisions at scale by combining optimization, automation, and business rules to solve complex real-world problems. The position is remote, with candidates required to reside in Minnesota, Illinois, or the Kansas City area. It is a full-time, direct-hire role.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong experience with .NET Core / C#.
- Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with microservices, CQRS, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous messaging.
- Experience with Kafka, Event Hubs, or similar streaming platforms.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- A track record of leading technical design from concept through production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with optimization, routing, scheduling, or decision-support systems.
- Experience with rules engines or workflow orchestration platforms.
- Experience building AI-enabled applications, agent-based workflows, or LLM-powered features.
- Background in logistics, transportation, or supply chain technology.
Responsibilities
- Design and build cloud-native, event-driven planning and optimization services.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and architectural direction of the platform.
- Develop proofs of concept using emerging technologies, including AI and intelligent automation.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Architecture teams to turn customer needs into scalable solutions.
- Mentor other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical leadership.
