Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
Provide designs, specify information systems solutions and technical direction in the development of new or existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements. Serve as a principal application designer for critical components and major modifications effectively using analytical and technical skills, available technology and tools in the evaluation of client requirements and processes. Provide solutions that are technologically sound. Complete and oversee the most complex systems analysis, design and development efforts. Prepare and manage the technical component of project plans. Confer with other Development, operations staff and Technology staff in overall systems development direction from technical analysis to user acceptance testing. Prepare and review test data and execute detailed test plans. Complete any required debugging. Evaluate and understand highly complex interrelationships and effects among programs, interfacing applications and platforms. Prepare thorough, clear technical and functional specifications and update systems documentation. Prepare charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems. Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications. Develop and coach other team members while also working independently on the applications within the boundaries of approved Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, including identification and recommendation of metrics to solve business needs and minimize risks to the Bank through clean and resilient code. Recommend new technology, policies or processes to benefit the organization and improve deficiencies. Lead or participate in technical evaluations of vendor software. Follow and promote use of development standards and procedures. Work independently on all high-level systems analysis and technical phases of development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Systems Developer, Application Developer, Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation.
- Five (5) years of experience with Systems analysis and application development.
- Five (5) years of experience with Object Oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
- Five (5) years of experience with Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Five (5) years of experience Developing software utilizing Java and/or JavaScript.
- Five (5) years of experience with Testing strategies, testing tools, and version control software including GitLab.
- Five (5) years of experience Developing software or a Microservices environment that deploys as a REST API using Java Spring Boot.
- Five (5) years of experience Developing and automating large-scale, high-performance data processing systems to drive and improve product experience.
- Five (5) years of experience Developing software utilizing Spring, Spring Boot and Maven to resolve application dependencies.
- Five (5) years of experience in Database, including MS SQL, Oracle, and MySQL, for table design and optimized query manipulation.
- Five (5) years of experience Performing CI/CD Integration using Gitlab or Jenkins or Jetstream.
- Five (5) years of experience with Postman.
- Five (5) years of experience Coordinating development tasks for any scope project.
- Five (5) years of experience Preparing and managing the technical component of project plans.
- Five (5) years of experience Preparing thorough, clear technical and functional specifications and updating systems documentation.
- Five (5) years of experience Preparing charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems.
- Five (5) years of experience Creating and maintaining solution architecture.
- Five (5) years of experience with Groovy scripting for Jenkins pipelines to automate CI/CD workflows and deployments.
- Five (5) years of experience with Shell scripting for deployment automation and multi-server execution.
- Five (5) years of experience with Containerized application deployments using OpenShift.
- Five (5) years of experience with Artifact management using JFrog Artifactory.
- Five (5) years of experience with Application security and vulnerability assessment and remediation using Veracode and AquaScan.
- Five (5) years of experience with Automated unit and integration testing using JUnit or Mockito.
- Five (5) years of experience with Performance and automation testing using Cucumber or JMeter.
- Five (5) years of experience with Operational monitoring and alerting using Kibana.
- Five (5) years of experience with Release engineering and deployment coordination across environments.
- Five (5) years of experience Strategizing and executing assessment of application dependencies, risk mitigation planning, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Five (5) years of experience Designing, developing, and maintaining complex stored procedures, functions, and database objects, ensuring high performance, reliability, and data integrity across mission-critical applications
- Five (5) years of experience Analyzing and refactoring SQL code to improve efficiency, scalability, and maintainability in regulated financial environments
