About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will join a dynamic team implementing infrastructure designs for next-generation cyberspace operations. The role focuses on iterating, streamlining, and scaling platform capabilities to support broad deployment and flexibility. The team builds a platform that simplifies complex infrastructure management across cloud-native and on-premises environments. Work includes scalable systems architecture, GitOps workflows for version-controlled and automated operations, and tools and processes that bridge development and operations while improving productivity and reliability across diverse infrastructure settings. The position is hybrid, with an expected two to three onsite days as needed and no minimum onsite requirement. Some weeks may require more or no onsite work depending on customer needs. The role is available in Herndon, Virginia, or Columbia, Maryland. A counterintelligence polygraph is required within six months after hire; candidates based out of Fort Meade must complete it before hiring.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph; only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearances.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or four years of hands-on experience in a software engineering or similar full-time position.
Ability to deploy, maintain, and monitor hardware, Docker containers, and Kubernetes clusters with limited supervision; the posting states this is typically achieved after at least two years of full-time industry experience and a bachelor’s degree.
Proficient with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman.
Proficient with Kubernetes container orchestration.
Proficient with Infrastructure-as-Code tools; Terraform is preferred.
Comfortable and proficient in Linux-based development environments.
Able to collaborate as part of a team and execute independently.
Comfortable working in a high-trust, adaptable team environment.
Proficient in system architecture and design.
Proficient in troubleshooting on-premises systems.
Proficient with source code management tools such as Git, GitHub, or GitLab.

Nice To Haves

Active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph or higher.
More than five years of industry experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or a similar role in the Cyber Operation Domain.
Experience communicating with customers and end users.
Terraform experience.
