About The Position

The Software Platform Foundations team at Anduril builds foundational systems that help engineering teams develop, test, and deploy defense technology efficiently and reliably. The team creates automated systems to reduce manual work and optimize processes and control systems across software development and production pipelines.

As a Senior Software Engineer, Release, you will help ensure the quality, traceability, and rapid deployment of software solutions. You will work across multi-stage release pipelines and cloud and robot environments, making architectural decisions where correctness and reliability have measurable consequences. This role supports safe delivery of Lattice to customers and operators, while enabling Software Platform teams to ship without disrupting one another.

You will own a major part of how Software Platform ships, lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive features from ambiguous problem statements through implementation and successful CI. The role focuses on automated verification and deployment systems, reference and test environments, hardware-in-the-loop testing, performance testing, and AI-enabled automation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building automated verification suites at scale.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline development (such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions), SRE principles, automated testing frameworks, automation scripting, and software development lifecycles.
• Hands-on experience automating hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and software-in-the-loop (SITL) engineering and using them in production release processes.
• Expertise in developing and implementing automated regression, unit, and integration tests.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and system development.
• Professional experience with containerization workflows and Terraform.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• NixOS experience.
• Experience working in a regulated industry or with systems requiring high reliability and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement robust automated systems for software development, verification, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain the reference environment in which Lattice workflows are verified before release.
• Build and maintain comprehensive, representative test environments, including hardware-in-the-loop systems, accounting for software performance on physical hardware and resource optimization.
• Implement software interfaces and product features that enable end-to-end testing across complex systems.
• Maintain and improve performance testing integration in CI/CD pipelines, establish and enforce performance baselines, and promote reliability engineering practices to identify and prevent regressions across the software stack.
• Implement AI-enabled automation to find and fix issues early in the development cycle without harming the developer experience.
• Own a major component of Software Platform's shipping systems, run design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive features from problem definition to code that passes CI.
