Senior Software Engineer, Release

Anduril•Seattle, WA

About The Position

The Software Platform Foundations team at Anduril builds foundational systems that help engineering teams develop, test, and deploy defense technology efficiently and reliably. The team designs automated systems to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and optimize processes and control systems across software development and production pipelines. As a Senior Software Engineer, Release, you will help ensure the quality, traceability, and safe deployment of software. You will work across multi-stage release pipelines and cloud and robot environments, where correctness and architectural decisions have measurable effects. The role supports safe delivery of Lattice to customers, operator confidence in the field, and reliable software releases across Software Platform teams. You will own a significant part of how Software Platform ships, lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive features from ambiguous problem statements through implementation and successful CI. The work includes developing automated verification and deployment systems, maintaining representative test environments—including hardware-in-the-loop systems—and integrating performance testing and reliability practices into CI/CD. You will also implement AI-enabled automation to find and fix issues early without degrading the developer experience.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience building automated verification suites at scale.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline development (such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions), SRE principles, automated testing frameworks, automation scripting, and software development lifecycles.
  • Hands-on experience automating Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) engineering and using them in production release processes.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing automated regression, unit, and integration tests.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and system development.
  • Professional experience with containerization workflows and Terraform.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • NixOS experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry or with systems requiring high reliability and traceability.

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement robust automated systems for software development, verification, and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain the reference environment used to verify Lattice workflows before release.
  • Build and maintain representative test environments, including hardware-in-the-loop systems, accounting for software behavior on physical hardware and resource optimization.
  • Implement software interfaces and product features that support end-to-end testing across complex systems.
  • Maintain and improve performance testing integration into CI/CD pipelines, establish and enforce performance baselines, and promote reliability engineering practices to identify and prevent regressions across the software stack.
  • Implement AI-enabled automation to find and fix issues early in the development cycle without impacting the developer experience.
  • Own a major part of Software Platform release systems, lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive features from ambiguous problem statements to code that passes CI across multiple Software Platform teams.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers as part of Anduril's total compensation package.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as a comprehensive, competitive package available at little to no cost to employees.
