[8GT] Senior Software Engineer (Node, Typescript, AWS)
About The Position
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help the client develop and maintain software applications supporting partners in advertising, retail, and hardware. You will work with product management, architecture, quality assurance, data engineering, IT, and other engineering teams to deliver maintainable, testable, performant, scalable, reliable, and secure software that produces measurable business outcomes. The role focuses on Node.js and TypeScript development, with AWS experience noted as a plus. You will contribute to code quality, team practices, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- More than 8 years of experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum.
- Experience with development tools such as VSCode, Git, and Jira.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and Terraform.
- Experience with software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies and ORMs.
Nice To Haves
- More than 6 years of experience developing software in an Agile environment.
- Experience designing, building, and supporting highly scalable systems in AWS.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area of study.
- Relevant AWS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, architecture, data engineering, quality assurance, and IT teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that follows coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers.
- Troubleshoot and debug software application issues.
- Keep up to date with software development trends and technologies and apply relevant knowledge to the work.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for software applications.
- Work with the quality assurance team to ensure applications meet quality standards.
- Follow Agile software development processes and methodologies.
- Participate in training and professional development to improve skills and knowledge.
- Provide accurate progress updates during daily standups, including blockers and revised timelines.
- Contribute critical analysis during retrospectives to identify ways the team can improve.
- Help onboard new employees, including teaching the GSTV way of developing.
- Establish and promote best practices and patterns, including automation to increase team efficiency.
