About The Position

The Senior Controls Software Engineer will support the review, development, simplification, integration, and release of controller software for GM’s VIP (Vehicle Interface Platform) and SDV2.0 architectures. The role is part of the Embedded Platform System & Infrastructure (EPSI) group, specifically the Low Voltage Infrastructure organization, which develops controls and diagnostic software for on-vehicle low-voltage power generation, energy storage, management, and distribution. The engineer will develop and improve embedded controls strategies for vehicles across GM’s portfolio, including EVs and ICE vehicles. The position focuses on controls development in embedded C and C++, including code efficiency, best practices, vulnerability surface mitigation, and resolving feature interference. The engineer will work across disciplines to design, integrate, test, and release robust software, while contributing to team capability and continuous improvement. The role is hybrid, with the selected candidate expected to report to a specific location at least three times a week or at another frequency determined by their manager. Relocation benefits are not available.
