•$125,000 - $150,000•Remote

About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will work with the developer platform team on initiatives that improve developer experience and delivery speed, from design through rollout, enablement, and measurement. The role includes understanding how the platform roadmap supports broader business goals, contributing feedback, and identifying opportunities to simplify product and technical design. The engineer will build AI-powered developer tooling, including agentic coding and review workflows, policy- and guardrail-aware assistants, and prompt libraries, instructions, and service manuals. They will also help evolve the CI/CD platform to improve speed, observability, and ease of adoption; strengthen Kubernetes reliability and security; and create paved paths and golden templates such as self-service software templates, CLI and automation enhancements, bootstrap flows, documentation, and runbooks. The role involves pairing with teammates on complex changes, promoting high-quality code reviews, sharing practices, and communicating realistic commitments, blockers, delays, and scope changes. The company is remote and based in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

  • A track record of building platform capabilities with clear outcomes in developer velocity, reliability, and/or quality.
  • Solid experience in one or more of CI/CD systems and reusable pipeline components; Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps, and infrastructure as code; or AI for engineering, including prompt design, multi-agent orchestration, safety and guardrails, and integrating LLMs into code and review workflows.
  • Proficiency in at least two languages used for platform work, such as Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Bash, and comfort moving across stacks to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Strong security and reliability instincts, including secrets management, least privilege, dependency hygiene, and runtime hardening.
  • Effective, clear, and concise written and verbal communication on technical and non-technical subjects, tailored to the audience.
  • Ability to actively listen and ensure others are understood.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building agentic developer assistants that can review code, propose changes, and safely automate routine tasks.
  • Experience with CDN and edge controls for maintenance and incident response.
  • Experience improving platform observability through logging, metrics, and traces, and performance baselining.
  • Experience with gRPC service enablement and runtime configuration patterns.
  • Exposure to commercial LLM providers such as Anthropic and safe rollout patterns in enterprise settings.

Responsibilities

  • Work on developer platform initiatives that improve developer experience and delivery speed from design through rollout, enablement, and measurement.
  • Understand how the platform roadmap connects to broader business goals, contribute feedback, and identify opportunities to simplify product and technical design.

  • Build policy- and guardrail-aware assistants that can comment, propose code changes, and safely automate repetitive tasks.
  • Develop prompt libraries, instructions, and service manuals to support effective and safe AI adoption across teams.
  • Contribute to the CI/CD platform to make it faster, more observable, and easier to adopt, and surface insights that inform team-level improvements.
  • Improve Kubernetes cluster and application resiliency, rollout strategies, and priority classes for critical services.
  • Apply Helm chart patterns, deployment practices, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
  • Contribute to incident response playbooks, maintenance modes, and recovery patterns.
  • Create paved paths and golden templates, including self-service software templates, CLI and automation enhancements, and bootstrap flows.
  • Write clear documentation, runbooks, and technical blogs that drive adoption and reduce support load.
  • Pair with teammates on complex changes, champion code review quality, and share practices within the team.
  • Set realistic commitments based on priority and urgency, deliver accordingly, and communicate blockers, delays, and scope changes before escalation.
