Senior Software Engineer (FS)
About The Position
BILL’s Billing and Monetization team builds the systems that drive the company’s subscription and pricing offerings. The team is developing a scalable, modular billing engine and a platform that allows internal teams to enable billing for new products quickly. It also owns the customer-facing pricing and upgrade/downgrade experience in the UI. The work delivers incremental value for internal and external customers. BILL is a remote-first company, with office spaces in San Jose, California, and Draper, Utah, and opportunities to connect in person. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Requirements
- 5+ years of development experience with a bachelor’s degree; additional work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience working on large-scale, complex applications using Java, AWS, Lambda, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with REST API development and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and DynamoDB.
- Knowledge of best practices and patterns for large-scale applications.
- Strong automated testing habits, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Care about accuracy and data integrity in systems that handle money.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
