About The Position

BN, an Augeo company, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help lead development of innovative social advertising platform solutions. The role works in a collaborative, agile environment using modern technologies such as React and Node.js to build robust, scalable applications. The engineer owns technical design and delivery, mentors other engineers, and helps define architecture for features that integrate with social platforms and address complex technical challenges.

The position is based in Rochester, New York. Candidates must currently live in Rochester or be willing to relocate there at their own expense before their start date. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment; the employer does not provide employment visa sponsorship for this role.

The base salary range is $90,000–$120,000. Offers may reflect factors including education, experience, skills, and geography.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 7 years of relevant professional software engineering experience, including substantial full-stack web development.
• Demonstrated ownership of technical design and delivery for complex features or services in a production environment.
• Proficiency in React, JavaScript, REST APIs, and Single Page Applications.
• Strong experience with Node.js and backend development.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Strong understanding of SDLC principles and writing maintainable, testable code; experience guiding others in these practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and communicate technical decisions clearly.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment without employer immigration sponsorship.
• Must currently live in Rochester, NY, or be willing to relocate there at personal expense before the start date.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Experience with or willingness to learn AI development best practices, including Vercel's AI SDK and Context Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of full-stack web applications.
• Own technical design and architecture for complex features and services using React and Node.js, balancing performance, scalability, and security.
• Build high-performance, scalable solutions and establish engineering quality through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Mentor Software Engineers and work with product partners and stakeholders to translate needs into specifications and phased delivery plans.
• Participate in daily standups and collaborate in an agile development environment to help the team plan and execute reliably.
• Analyze internal and customer needs, propose technology-driven solutions, and evaluate tradeoffs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, and coach others on best practices and SDLC discipline.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security, including production readiness and operational concerns for owned areas.
• Contribute to technical decisions about integrations with social platforms and related APIs.
