Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. We need your help to make that happen. We believe that the onchain platform is the most important builder platform since the internet (“online”). We believe that the onchain platform should be open source, free to use, and globally available. And we believe that in order to make it really work, we need all hands on deck, working together to scale in a secure, decentralized, easy-to-use way. Base is incubated within Coinbase and plans to progressively decentralize in the years ahead. We believe that decentralization is critical to creating an open, global crypto economy that is accessible to everyone. We are looking for a senior fullstack engineer to join the Base team with emphasis in frontend onchain engineering, to enable and accelerate the success of Base. You’ll be working across all components of our system to enable the next generation of onchain products at the company.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in software engineering
- At least 2 years of experience in developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern js frameworks like React and NextJS
- Developed and shipped user-facing features with onchain components
- Familiar with current trends and best practices in frontend architecture and dapp development, including security, performance, and usability.
- Familiar with product and design lifecycles, and collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product managers
- Write high quality, well tested and maintainable code
Nice To Haves
- Worked with Golang, Reth, Foundry, Solidity
- Contributed to open source crypto projects
- Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks
- Built responsive web or mobile applications
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining our frontend web applications with high quality standards
- Open sourcing our web apps and libraries, and managing open source contributions and issues from the community
- Assisting teams inside Coinbase building onchain products, leveraging industry best practices and modern dapp development patterns
- Building key components of unified Base stack to further the decentralization of Base
