About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for requirement and scoping analysis, solution design, coding, testing, defect management, troubleshooting, DevOps orientation, and program monitoring. This role involves exploring existing products/solutions to meet business/technical needs, assessing gaps, classifying requirements, and anticipating solution risks. The engineer will contribute to the creation of user stories, assist in designing solutions that ensure processes and applications work together, and evaluate trade-offs based on business requirements. They will convert High-Level Design (HLD) to detailed design, create minimalistic code that meets business and non-functional requirements, and select appropriate languages, standards, and tools. The role also includes building automation scripts for CI/CD, testing, and other processes, implementing telemetry features, and ensuring security policy requirements are applied. Testing responsibilities include mapping requirements to test objectives, creating and executing test cases, and performing various types of testing. Defect management involves tracking, analyzing, and performing regression testing, as well as analyzing past defects to prevent recurrence. Troubleshooting performance and availability bottlenecks, conducting complex maintenance procedures, monitoring application performance, and evaluating change requests are also key aspects. The engineer will ensure adherence to project milestones and timelines.

Requirements

Must have experience with: Utilizing Java programming and Spring Boot for developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, including end-to-end API design and implementation
Writing unit tests using JUnit
UI automation using frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, and TestNG
Rest Assured for API testing and JMeter for performance testing
MySQL for relational database operations
Using Azure Data Studio for managing SQL Server and Azure-based databases
Using Jira and Confluence Atlassian tools
Performance tests using JMeter
CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments

Responsibilities

Requirement and Scoping Analysis: Explores relevant products/solutions from an existing repertoire, that can address business/technical needs.
Assesses gaps/ updates/ modifications between the customer/business expectations and the existing product/solutions.
Classifies the requirements into applicable types.
Anticipates the solution risks / issues during requirements gathering phase, inform relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective steps.
Contributes to the creation of user stories for component/application/complex.
Solution Design: Assists in design of solutions such that the processes / applications work in tandem for specific components/modules of a product.
Evaluates trade-offs while designing a component based on the business requirements.
Assists in conversion of HLD (High Level Design) to create detailed design using mock screens, pseudo codes and detailed functional logic of the modules for specific modules / components of a product.
Coding: Creates/configures minimalistic code for entire component/application and ensure the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability and high-scalability needs.
Assists in the selection of appropriate languages, development standards and tools for software coding/configuration.
Take initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work.
Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Testing or any other process (as applicable).
Implement telemetry features as required independently.
Ensures security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration.
Testing: Maps the customer requirements in to test objectives.
Identify and create test cases for the component/module.
Executes test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component.
Executes different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs.
Defect Management and Troubleshooting: Tracks and analyzes defects for the component/ module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes.
Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects.
Troubleshoots performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.
DevOps Orientation: Conducts complex maintenance procedures for applications independently.
Monitors and evaluates the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics; Performs maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities.
Analyzes application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis; Evaluates change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.
Program Monitoring: Ensures adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines.
