About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for various stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, solution design, coding, testing, defect management, and DevOps activities. This role involves assessing and classifying requirements, identifying solution risks, contributing to user story creation, designing and evaluating solutions, and ensuring code meets business and technical requirements. The engineer will also be involved in selecting appropriate technologies, building automation scripts, implementing security policies, conducting various types of testing, troubleshooting performance issues, and monitoring program progress against timelines.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or the equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related field and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.
  • Experience with participating in technical discussions with cross functional teams for program level deliverables and software architecture using Agile methodology.
  • Experience with participating in discovery phase of medium to large projects to develop high level design.
  • Experience with designing and developing high quality software features and functionality using several technologies such as C#, VB, PL/SQL, C, C++ shell and frameworks such as .Net, Entity Framework.
  • Experience with designing Relational Database schema (e.g. DB2, SQL Server).
  • Experience with performing code reviews to ensure software code quality with knowledge of ‘git’ or another source code management tool.
  • Experience with engaging in unit and integration testing of the web services to provide optimized performance for high throughput-low latency applications and using testing tools.
  • Experience with Database modeling and querying SQL and NoSQL databases (MS SQL, Informix DB, and COSMOS DB).
  • Experience with Testing Tools using Postman/Swagger.
  • Experience with participating in end-to-end application/service implementations, data feeds ingestion, and orchestration.
  • Experience with building scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD, Testing or any other process.

Responsibilities

  • Assess gaps/updates/modifications between customer/business expectations and existing product/solutions.
  • Classify requirements into applicable types (Functional/Non-Functional, Derived/Imposed/Emergent etc.).
  • Anticipate solution risks/issues during requirements gathering and recommend corrective steps.
  • Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/application/complex.
  • Assist in the design of solutions where processes/applications work in tandem for specific components/modules.
  • Evaluate trade-offs while designing a component based on business requirements.
  • Assist in conversion of HLD to create detailed design using mock screens, pseudo codes, and detailed functional logic.
  • Create/configure minimalistic code for entire component/application, ensuring business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs are met.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C# etc.), development standards, and tools (e.g., Monday.com, Linx, Embold etc.).
  • Take the initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks.
  • Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD, Testing, or any other process.
  • Implement telemetry features as required independently.
  • Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration.
  • Map customer requirements to test objectives.
  • Identify and create test cases for the component/module.
  • Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects.
  • Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools.
  • Track and analyze defects for the component/module and carry out regression testing.
  • Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence.
  • Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.
  • Conduct complex maintenance procedures for applications independently.
  • Monitor and evaluate application performance by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics.
  • Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities.
  • Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis.
  • Evaluate change requests to identify valid and feasible ones.
  • Ensure adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines.
