About The Position

FactSet is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design and develop financial trading applications. The engineer will work on mission-critical systems, using object-oriented programming primarily in Java to build scalable, robust trading applications. The role focuses on high-performance Order Management System (OMS) features across backend and frontend components and involves collaboration with product managers and other engineers to turn requirements into technical solutions. The position is described as hybrid.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant work experience.
• Strong unit testing experience.
• Strong JavaScript development experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and execution skills.
• Strong code review skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance OMS features across backend Java and frontend components.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold standards for code quality, usability, and performance.
• Optimize backend processes and frontend user experience for scalability and low latency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across frontend and backend systems in a financial trading environment.
• Contribute to feature planning, architectural discussions, and technical documentation.
