ServiceNow•Santa Clara, CA
•$128,900 - $219,100

About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer in ServiceNow’s Data Platform organization, you will design, build, and operate features and services within a cloud-native platform. You will deliver well-defined work from implementation through production with limited guidance, break features into executable tasks, and raise risks and trade-offs as they emerge. You will collaborate with staff and senior engineers to align work with team designs and platform standards. The role emphasizes hands-on development of automation, tooling, and platform services used by other teams, while contributing to reliability, scalability, and operability through testing, instrumentation, runbook improvements, and on-call participation. You will also support junior engineers through code review, pairing, and knowledge sharing. This position supports ServiceNow’s US Regulated Markets. Employment is contingent on passing the required USFedPASS background screening, including credit and criminal/misdemeanor checks and a drug test. Due to federal requirements, candidates must be US citizens, naturalized US citizens, or US Permanent Residents holding a green card.

  • Hands-on experience building production software, including exposure to deploying and operating workloads on Kubernetes.
  • Some hands-on experience with at least one major hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its core compute and networking primitives.
  • A track record of reliably delivering features and improvements as a productive member of an engineering team.
  • Working knowledge of containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based development workflows.
  • Good programming skills in Go, or another systems language with willingness to work primarily in Go.
  • For this position, eligibility is limited to US citizens, naturalized US citizens, or US Permanent Residents holding a green card.
