About The Position

Global Payments is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Express team and help shape the future of global commerce. This role is hybrid, requiring three days per week in the Cincinnati, Ohio, or Denver, Colorado offices; it is not eligible for remote work. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, and candidates must be U.S. citizens or valid Green Card holders. The engineer will lead technical designs for new features and services, investigate systems and code, and contribute to high-quality feature design, development, testing, and release. The role collaborates with Product Management, Agile Release Train members, architects, DevOps, and other teams to identify solutions within system constraints. It also includes investigating live-system issues, mentoring junior team members, participating in SAFe/Agile ceremonies, assessing architectural impacts, and working with product managers or users to define requirements and modifications. The position calls for extensive software delivery and architecture experience, including designing scalable enterprise applications and cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will work with Azure and AWS, microservices, APIs using .NET 6+, Kafka, and containerized workloads using Kubernetes and OpenShift. They will contribute to cloud strategies aligned with business objectives and support scalability, resilience, security, and high availability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
7+ years of experience delivering software solutions.
4+ years of experience in system architecture and design for scalable enterprise applications.
Hands-on experience with Kafka.
Experience deploying and managing distributed applications and services on Azure cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and best practices.
Experience designing and developing cloud-based solutions on Azure and AWS, including microservices architecture and API development using .NET 6+.
Expertise in developing cloud strategies aligned with business objectives, leveraging Azure and hybrid cloud environments, and managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes and OpenShift.
Must be a U.S. citizen or valid Green Card holder; visa sponsorship is not available.
Must work hybrid three days per week from the Cincinnati, Ohio, or Denver, Colorado offices; remote work is not available.

Responsibilities

Lead technical designs for new features and services, including investigations and code analysis.

Develop cloud strategies aligned with business objectives and manage containerized workloads to support scalability, resilience, security, and high availability.
