About The Position

Curotec is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of intelligent automation solutions for healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), specializing in computer vision-driven RPA. The role sets technical direction for computer-vision-heavy automation and architects scalable solutions for desktop, document, and portal workflows. It serves as a subject matter expert in Python, OpenCV, image-based desktop automation, Selenium, and healthcare compliance. The engineer mentors team members, contributes to engineering standards, and partners with operations and clinical stakeholders to turn complex manual workflows into reliable, compliant automated systems. The position leads the design and ongoing maintenance of automation frameworks for RCM workflows, including OpenCV and image-based automation, desktop and virtualized environments, OCR and document extraction, and Selenium-based automation for payer portals and EHR interfaces. It drives adoption of AI/ML capabilities, owns end-to-end integration with billing software, EHR systems, and healthcare portals, and establishes standards for privacy, security, documentation, monitoring, reliability, and secure credential and audit-trail practices. The role also architects and governs Azure services supporting enterprise-scale automation and mentors junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

  • Expert proficiency in Python, including advanced patterns, performance optimization, and production-grade software design.
  • Deep, proven production experience with OpenCV for image recognition, template matching, and document or image data extraction.
  • Significant hands-on experience with image-based desktop automation libraries such as PyAutoGUI and designing resilient automation for applications without an API or DOM.
  • Proven experience with Selenium for complex browser-based automation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare RCM workflows, including billing, coding, claims, and denial management.
  • Deep knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare security best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, debugging, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical decisions to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with version control tools and branching strategies such as Git.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, with significant focus on Python automation and a demonstrable concentration in computer-vision-based RPA.
  • Ability to contribute at a senior level from the start of a contract engagement with minimal ramp-up time.
  • Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems, define solution architectures, and guide teams, including in non-deterministic visual environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced experience with OCR engines such as Tesseract or PaddleOCR, or cloud document-intelligence services, including tuning and model selection.
  • Experience architecting automations in Citrix, RDP, or other virtualized or remote environments requiring image-based control.
  • Extensive experience applying AI/ML tools such as NLP and predictive modeling to production automation use cases.
  • Extensive, proven experience leading automation of complex healthcare revenue-cycle workflows, including eligibility, claims processing, payments, and denials management.
  • Expert-level experience designing and integrating with third-party healthcare software ecosystems, including EHR/EMR systems, billing platforms, and web portals.
  • Strong familiarity with EHR/billing systems and healthcare web portals at an architectural level.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, App Services, and Azure DevOps.
  • Advanced knowledge of logging, alerting, and observability tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and long-term maintenance of OpenCV- and image-based automation frameworks for RCM workflows, including template matching, document understanding, and visual element detection at production scale.
  • Architect robust image-based automations for legacy desktop, thick-client, and virtualized environments such as Citrix and RDP, accounting for UI drift, resolution changes, and visual variability.
  • Drive the architecture of OCR and document-extraction pipelines for EOBs, remittance advice, correspondence, and payer documents, selecting suitable engines and models.
  • Own complex Selenium-based automation for payer portals and EHR web interfaces.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation frameworks for RCM processes using Python, OpenCV, PyAutoGUI, and Selenium.
  • Drive adoption and integration of AI/ML capabilities, including OCR, NLP, and predictive analytics, to improve automation quality and process outcomes.
  • Own end-to-end integration of automation solutions with billing software, EHR systems, and healthcare web portals.
  • Champion HIPAA and HITRUST privacy and security compliance and establish team-wide engineering standards.
  • Define documentation standards and ensure technical documentation is maintained across automation workflows.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and optimization practices for automation accuracy, efficiency, and reliability, with attention to computer-vision workflows affected by UI changes.
  • Design resilient architectures spanning legacy desktop systems, virtualized environments, and modern platforms.
  • Partner with subject matter experts, operations, and clinical stakeholders to translate manual workflows into automated solutions.
  • Enforce secure credential handling, logging, and audit-trail practices in line with HIPAA and HITRUST requirements.
  • Architect and govern Azure services that support enterprise-scale automation.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
