About The Position
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for owning scoped feature or model delivery through collaborative engineering teams. You will manage implementation, iteration, testing, and ongoing support for assigned services, APIs, user interfaces, or ML model components, operating with a product-driven mindset and aligning outcomes with broader platform, system, and domain objectives. You will write clean, efficient, and reliable code using languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++. You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD deployments, automated testing, observability, monitoring, and maintenance. You will also build scripts for automation and implement telemetry features independently, conduct code structure reviews, and support ongoing defect management and debugging processes. Additionally, you will integrate AI agents and ML components, leverage GenAI tools, and apply object-oriented programming principles. You will assist in converting high-level designs into detailed designs, evaluate trade-offs, and design scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems. You will also engage stakeholders to identify and refine business or user problems, translate pain points into technical requirements, and define metrics for solution success. You will conduct maintenance procedures, monitor application performance, and ensure adherence to project milestones. Finally, you will promote a collaborative engineering mindset, contribute to innovation, and demonstrate responsibility for deliverables.
Requirements
- Designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based distributed systems
- Designing and implementing scalable backend services using Node.js and serverless architecture
- Architecting and integrating microservices and event-driven systems
- Designing and implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs for high-traffic applications
- Implementing secure authentication and authorization systems, including role-based access control (RBAC)
- Working with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB) for large-scale data processing
- Designing and optimizing relational databases (PostgreSQL) for transactional systems
- Implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments for cloud applications
- Writing automated units, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure system reliability
- Using infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK) to provide cloud resources
- Participating in agile software development processes for large-scale systems

- Leverages GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve development velocity and innovation.
- Applies object-oriented programming principles and documentation-based coding practices to ensure modularity, maintainability, and consistency.
- Assists in converting high-level designs into detailed designs using mock screens, pseudo code, and functional logic.
- Evaluates trade-offs and designs scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems aligned with Walmart’s standards.
- Participates in design reviews and ensures the implementation of appropriate design patterns and principles.
- Demonstrates continuous learning and supports peer growth through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
- Engages stakeholders to identify and refine complex business or user problems.
- Translates pain points into actionable technical requirements and defines clear metrics to measure solution success and impact.
