About The Position

This role focuses on owning scoped feature or model delivery through collaborative engineering teams. The Senior Software Engineer will manage implementation, iteration, testing, and ongoing support for assigned services, APIs, user interfaces, or ML model components, operating with a product-driven mindset and aligning outcomes with broader platform, system, and domain objectives. The position involves writing clean, efficient, and reliable code, driving the full software development lifecycle including CI/CD deployments, automated testing, observability, monitoring, and maintenance. It also includes building automation scripts and implementing telemetry features. A key aspect is integrating AI agents and ML components, leveraging GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot, and applying object-oriented programming principles. The role requires assisting in converting high-level designs into detailed designs, evaluating trade-offs, and designing scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems aligned with Walmart’s standards. Engagement with stakeholders to define and refine business or user problems, translating pain points into technical requirements, and defining success metrics are also crucial. The engineer will conduct complex maintenance, monitor application performance, ensure adherence to project milestones, and promote a collaborative engineering mindset focused on continuous improvement and team wellbeing. Technical ownership, sound judgment, adaptability to change, and effective collaboration across teams are expected.

Requirements

• Experience with Developing and maintaining software component using Java Spring Boot and RESTfull APIs
• Experience using Kubernetes for deployment, scaling, and management of docker container-based applications
• Experience designing and implementing reports, dashboards, and alerts in Splunk, Grafana and open observer for monitoring application performance and analyzing data with queries
• Experience maintaining source code using Version Control tool GIT
• Experience working on an event-driven microservices system using Apache Kafka, enabling real-time patient profile processing
• Experience managing and integrating code quality using SonarQube Tool
• Experience developing complex SQL queries for reducing data retrieval time and improving performance of application
• Experience designing ETL process for data extraction, transformation and integration
• Experience managing projects in Agile/Scrum environments, leveraging tools like JIRA for tracking tasks and facilitating team collaboration
• Experience ensuring higher reliability and coverage by focusing on enhancing existing test cases using parametrized test cases
• Experience translating requirements to models using tools like UML, sequence diagrams, and data flow diagrams to bridge the gap between user needs and technical execution
