About The Position

Farsight AI is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help develop its agentic AI platform for financial services. The platform helps investment banks and private equity firms automate complex workflows, including the creation and refinement of decks, models, and pitches. The role involves shipping features and advancing a unified, expansive platform offering in response to customer demand and product opportunities.

The engineer will own projects from design through implementation and deployment at scale in a fluid, fast-paced startup environment. The work includes building clean, efficient, change-ready software; listening to customer feedback; prioritizing work; and critically evaluating output quality. Projects may range from longer-term research to bug fixes. The engineer will collaborate closely with a motivated team to build robust, accurate applications for major financial organizations.

Farsight is based in Manhattan, New York City, and works in person four days per week, with Fridays remote.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of full-time software engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge and experience building scalable, user-friendly full-stack applications.
• Experience with TypeScript, Python, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Strong interest in learning about generative AI technology and its rapidly evolving landscape.
• Experience working in unstructured environments and taking ownership of projects from conception through deployment.
• Intrinsic motivation and ability to critically evaluate one's own work.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Positive and fun attitude in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an early engineer or founder at a fast-growing startup.
• Previous AI research or experience interacting with AI systems, including using closed-source models, fine-tuning models, or deploying open-source models.
• Deep understanding of scalable system design, performance optimization, and resilience engineering.
• Extensive front-end experience and some UI/UX design experience.
• Previous experience interacting with customers and receiving customer feedback.
• Leadership experience in a technical position.
