About The Position
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for various stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, solution design, coding, testing, defect management, and DevOps orientation. This role involves creating and configuring code, selecting appropriate development tools, and ensuring the software meets business and technical requirements, including non-functional aspects like maintainability, availability, and scalability. The engineer will also be involved in automation, security, and performance testing, as well as monitoring application performance and conducting maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.
- Experience with coding in an Object-oriented Programming Language (Java).
- Experience designing and developing Test Automation frameworks leveraging Selenium Libraries, TestNG, Cucumber for web-based automated UI Testing.
- Experience automating desktop-based applications testing (non-web) using HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) tool.
- Experience writing JUnit tests and Jest tests to support Unit Testing of Java and JavaScript applications.
- Experience performing web services testing using SOAPUI and API Testing using Postman.
- Experience performing automated RESTful API testing using customized Karate framework.
- Experience developing and implementing Automated Test Framework for database testing using Python.
- Experience writing advanced SQL queries for data reconciliation, data pipelines, and file feed validations.
- Experience developing and implementing performance testing using Apache JMeter.
- Experience virtualizing APIs and driving API tests with virtual services using CA DevTest (Service Virtualization).
- Experience developing and implementing automated mobile testing using Appium.
- Experience continuously inspecting code quality and code security using SonarQube.
- Experience creating and configuring test environments, connecting databases, running scripts using AWS API and CLI.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for Continuous Integration, uDeploy for Continuous Deployment, dockers and containers for parallel testing via Selenium Grid, BrowserStack for cloud-based on-demand Selenium Grid, and GitHub for test automation source code management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct requirement and scoping analysis, assessing gaps and modifications between customer expectations and existing products/solutions.
- Classify requirements and anticipate solution risks during the requirements gathering phase.
- Contribute to the creation of user stories for components, applications, or complex features.
- Assist in the design of solutions, evaluating trade-offs and converting High-Level Design (HLD) to detailed design.
- Create and configure code to meet business, technical, and non-functional requirements.
- Assist in selecting appropriate programming languages, development standards, and tools.
- Learn fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks for future scope.
- Build scripts for automation of repetitive tasks in CI/CD, Testing, or other processes.
- Implement telemetry features independently.
- Ensure security policy requirements are applied during code development/configuration.
- Map customer requirements to test objectives and create test cases.
- Execute test cases to detect errors and defects, and perform different types of testing.
- Track and analyze defects, perform regression testing, and analyze past defects to avoid recurrence.
- Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.
- Conduct complex maintenance procedures independently.
- Monitor and evaluate application performance by tracking and analyzing metrics.
- Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities.
- Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, and performance data.
- Evaluate change requests for validity and feasibility.
- Ensure adherence to project milestones and timelines.
