About The Position

Elastic is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Billing Core team, which owns the data layer that supports accurate, auditable, and automated billing for Elastic Cloud. The billing platform operates across AWS, GCP, and Azure in more than 50 regions, handling usage-based metering, consumption billing, and marketplace integrations. The team’s Usage area collects and processes usage and cost data used for billing and financial reporting; its Engine area converts hourly usage data into customer invoices and revenue records. The engineer will take ownership of key systems, solve complex problems with minimal guidance, and help improve engineering quality. The role works closely with Product, SRE, and Cloud Infrastructure teams, and includes end-to-end project ownership, technical reviews, mentoring, production readiness, and on-call participation. The position requires eligibility to work in Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level 4 or above cloud service environments. Compensation is base salary with no variable compensation component. The role is currently eligible for Elastic’s stock program. The typical starting salary range is $133,100–$210,600 USD, or $159,900–$252,900 USD in specified locations: Seattle, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City Metro Area.
