Senior Software Engineer, Backend
About The Position
Bitsight is seeking a highly experienced, collaborative backend engineer to join a multicultural Engineering team focused on its Third Party Risk Management business. The Senior Software Engineer owns loosely defined problems and features from technical design through completion, learns quickly, and works collaboratively to deliver high-quality software. The role calls for a strong generalist who can apply a range of technologies and languages, learn new concepts as needed, and contribute ideas that continuously improve the team. The team delivers well-tested code in a continuous delivery environment.
Requirements
- Five years of experience as a Software Engineer building and maintaining a SaaS application.
- Experience with CI/CD, such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins, and container technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Strong experience with Python and modern Python frameworks and technologies, such as Django, FastAPI, Flask, or SQLAlchemy.
- Experience maintaining, building, and optimizing REST APIs.
- Experience with cloud computing environments, such as AWS.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Curiosity, a growth mindset, and a passion for continuous learning.
- Ability to take ownership of loosely defined features from technical design through completion.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience building internal coding agents, such as ticket-to-MR tools or automated code review, and leading their rollout, including process design and team enablement.
- Solid experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.
- Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop and Spark ecosystems.
- Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools in daily workflows, including Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
