Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
JR Recruiting is partnering with a leading global company in the supply chain space to hire multiple Senior Software Engineers for a newly approved growth initiative. The role offers the opportunity to join on the ground floor and help shape the direction of a strategic platform. The team is building an intelligent, AI-driven planning platform that combines optimization, automation, and business rules to help customers make smarter decisions at scale and solve complex real-world problems. The Senior Software Engineer designs and builds cloud-native, event-driven planning and optimization services; contributes to the platform’s technical roadmap and architectural direction; and develops proofs of concept using emerging technologies, including AI and intelligent automation. The role partners with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Architecture teams to turn customer needs into scalable solutions, and provides technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong experience with .NET Core / C#.
- Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with microservices, CQRS, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous messaging.
- Experience with Kafka, Event Hubs, or similar streaming platforms.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- A track record of leading technical design from concept through production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Candidates must reside in Minnesota, Illinois, or the Kansas City area.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with optimization, routing, scheduling, or decision-support systems.
- Experience with rules engines or workflow orchestration platforms.
- Experience building AI-enabled applications, agent-based workflows, or LLM-powered features.
- Background in logistics, transportation, or supply chain technology.
Responsibilities
- Design and build cloud-native, event-driven planning and optimization services.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and architectural direction of the platform.
- Develop proofs of concept using emerging technologies, including AI and intelligent automation.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Architecture teams to turn customer needs into scalable solutions.
- Mentor other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical leadership.
