Senior Software Engineer, Business Systems - GTM
About The Position
As a member of Verkada’s Business Systems Engineering team, the Senior Software Engineer will build and improve tools used daily by Go-to-Market teams. The team identifies bottlenecks and friction points, drives process improvements, and develops technical solutions. It is the custodian of data used by sales, order, finance, and support teams, emphasizing automation, metrics, iteration, and proactive work. This role is based onsite at Verkada’s headquarters in San Mateo, California. The position designs and implements solutions spanning AWS, Salesforce, and NetSuite; improves observability, reliability, and data correctness; and leads projects from ideation through release. It also includes developing customer empathy to propose system improvements and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on distributed systems at scale.
- Experience shipping customer-facing products or internal tools.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Passion for observability and reliability.
- In-depth expertise in distributed systems and data processing.
- AWS Cloud experience with foundational services and technologies including Kubernetes, Fargate, Lambda, Airflow, Athena, DynamoDB, VPC, and EC2.
