Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
Artemis is building an AI-driven cybersecurity platform that creates a live model of each customer’s environment and uses AI agents to detect, investigate, hunt, and respond to threats. The company is developing a large-scale data platform that ingests and analyzes exabytes of streaming data from cloud platforms, identity providers, network logs, and other sources. The Senior Software Engineer will help shape and build this platform, working across critical parts of the system, from customer-facing experiences to large-scale data and analytics infrastructure. The role carries significant ownership and includes defining architecture, making technical decisions, and driving projects from concept through production. The engineer will collaborate across product, design, security, and AI/ML teams, and use AI-native development practices.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Strong backend development experience, such as Python, Go, or similar, and experience designing APIs and services.
- Experience building or working with distributed systems, data pipelines, or large-scale platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern deployment practices, including containers, orchestration, and CI/CD.
- Ability to reason about performance, reliability, and scalability in real-world systems.
- Product and customer mindset, with an interest in why a solution is being built as well as how.
- Clear communication and ability to collaborate across disciplines and mentor other engineers.
Nice To Haves
- Frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with data platforms such as Kafka, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
- Background in cybersecurity, observability, or large-scale analytics systems.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver major product and platform initiatives by designing, building, and shipping end-to-end features and systems for detection, analytics, and customer experience.
- Build and scale reliable, high-performance distributed services and pipelines that ingest, process, and analyze large volumes of security telemetry.
- Contribute across backend services, APIs, data infrastructure, and user-facing applications as needed.
- Evaluate architectural trade-offs, influence technical direction, and help keep systems scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Apply strong engineering judgment to balance speed and quality and uphold high standards for code, design, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with product, design, security, and AI/ML teams to turn complex problems into usable, reliable solutions.
- Use and help evolve AI tools and AI-native practices to improve software development velocity and quality.
