About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer builds software solutions for business applications as a hands-on technical lead within a high-functioning Agile team. The role guides technical delivery for assigned projects across the entire development lifecycle and application layers: presentation, business logic, and data. Responsibilities include application design, development, and testing, supported by a thorough understanding of applicable technologies, tools, and existing designs. The engineer provides technical guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolving highly complex technical problems and ensures solutions meet quality, security, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

At least 5 years of software development or engineering experience.
Experience developing or supporting software in a banking environment is preferred.
Experience in a polyglot environment using multiple languages, including C#, Golang, Python, and TypeScript.
Experience with modern UI web development; Angular is preferred, with React or Vue as alternatives.
Strong experience with database design across technologies such as SQL Server, Snowflake, and MongoDB.
Azure experience, including AKS, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, Synapse, and Data Factory.
Experience building distributed and scalable applications using REST services and messaging technologies.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps Pipelines, Harness, or Jenkins.
Strong understanding of authorization and authentication.
Data streaming and/or messaging experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies.
Knowledge of domain-driven design, software design patterns, and design principles.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, MIS, or a related technical field; alternatively, at least 4 years of equivalent professional experience and a high school diploma or GED.
Strong desire to learn new concepts, processes, and technologies.
Ability to work effectively with AI tools and an open, curious approach to emerging technologies.
Strong communication skills and a strong customer focus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver code supporting new feature development and enhancements in an Agile environment.
Serve as the hands-on technical lead for assigned projects, coordinating technical implementation across contributors and driving delivery from discovery through deployment with business stakeholders and project managers.
Deliver unit and automated tests with all code to demonstrate correctness, robustness, and scalability.
Interface with third-party data vendors to consume their APIs.
Provide innovative ideas and solutions in an evolving environment.
Develop user-facing UI using RESTful APIs and modern frontend frameworks.
Acquire business domain knowledge and apply it to automated solutions.
Address issues and mitigate risks, and communicate status to business stakeholders, IT leaders, and other impacted IT teams.
Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff in resolving highly complex technical problems.
Ensure solutions meet quality, security, and compliance requirements.
