About The Position

Skydio is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and extend the AI infrastructure development platform used by its engineers. The role focuses on integrating AI coding agents into daily engineering workflows and developing secure tools across the codebase, CI, and internal infrastructure to improve development velocity. The engineer will work with teams across firmware, autonomy, cloud, and apps to identify workflow bottlenecks, lower developer cognitive load, and improve engineering workflows and pipelines. The role also includes supporting adoption of AI development tools and measuring their impact through adoption, cycle time, and quality.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience building developer tools, infrastructure, or platform systems.
Hands-on experience building with LLM-based tools and agents.
Strong grounding in Python, Go, TypeScript, or C++.
Experience with CI/CD and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
A product mindset toward internal users, including talking to users, shipping quickly, and iterating.

Experience with security-sensitive environments or monorepos.

Responsibilities

Build and extend the agentic coding platform, including agent integrations, MCP servers, and sandboxed execution.
Design agent guardrails, including permissions, secrets handling, and auditability, to support safe access to sensitive code.
Build infrastructure that enables teams to quickly deploy internal tools and agents.
Work with teams across firmware, autonomy, cloud, and apps to identify workflow bottlenecks and address them.
Measure platform impact through adoption, cycle time, and quality, and use the data to set priorities.
Promote adoption as an internal expert on AI development tools and help engineers use them effectively.
Create common tools, provide development best practices, and guide engineering workflows.
