Senior Software Engineer

Keebo
•$170,000 - $200,000•Remote

About The Position

Keebo automatically optimizes cloud data warehouses for Snowflake and Databricks, controlling compute costs without hurting query performance. Its platform learns each customer's workloads and adjusts warehouse settings in real time. Keebo is venture-backed, built on database and machine learning research, and fully remote. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and scale the systems behind Keebo's platform. You will use AI to increase your own and the team's output and work directly with product to turn customer problems into shipped features. The team uses AI agents across design, implementation, review, and testing, while critically reviewing their output to the same standard as other code. The team adopts new tools and processes quickly and discontinues approaches that are not working. The role is fully remote and open to candidates living in the United States who are authorized to work there. Visa support is not provided. Core hours align with US Eastern Time. The base salary is $170,000 to $200,000 for US-based candidates, plus equity.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including experience at an early-stage startup from Seed through Series B.
  • Deep experience with AI coding agents and examples of scaling their use across a team.
  • Ability to identify AI output that is wrong, incomplete, or risky, especially when customer data is involved, and a habit of adapting as tools change.
  • A track record of scaling systems as load, data, and customer numbers grow.
  • Strong architectural skills, supported by examples.
  • Sound judgment about when to ship a simple solution and when reliability, data integrity, or architecture cannot wait.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript, plus strong SQL skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, containers, and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Clear, collaborative communication, especially in writing, with the ability to explain what matters and why.

  • Knowledge of query optimization, machine learning, or algorithm development.

Responsibilities

  • Design reliable systems that process large volumes of customer warehouse data.
  • Use AI coding tools effectively by writing clear specifications and context, running agents on parallel workstreams, and critically reviewing their output.
  • Build shared AI workflows, guardrails, and review standards that help the team work faster.
  • Evaluate new tools and models and share worthwhile ones with the team.
  • Write architecture documents that explain what is being built, the tradeoffs, and the reasons behind them.
  • Understand customer needs and decide what is worth building.
