About The Position

This opportunity provides advanced software development support to a major United States strategic command, contributing to capabilities that underpin national-level strategic deterrence and long-range operational readiness. The Senior Software Engineer leads technical delivery across the software development lifecycle and develops scalable, high-availability, mission-critical applications. The role provides technical leadership and mentorship, collaborates on architecture and design, and supports Agile execution and continuous improvement.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and relevant software engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience designing, developing, and supporting scalable software applications.
Knowledge of software architecture, object-oriented design, and modern development practices.
Experience working in Agile and CI/CD environments.
Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to lead technical efforts and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, implement, and enhance scalable, high-availability software applications that support mission objectives.
Own technical delivery across the software development lifecycle, including planning, estimation, design, development, testing, and deployment.
Guide development on complex projects, resolve technical challenges, and ensure successful execution of key deliverables.
Collaborate on architecture and design decisions to align solutions with customer requirements, business objectives, and operational constraints.
Develop and maintain mission-critical software using modern programming languages, frameworks, and engineering best practices.
Mentor and support fellow engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and promotion of sound software engineering practices.
Support Agile development using Jira, Confluence, and Git to manage work, collaborate across teams, and track progress.
Drive software quality and continuous improvement through automated testing, technical documentation, risk identification, and performance optimization.
