AIM is hiring a Senior Software Engineer with a UI focus to design and build two web surfaces connecting people with its autonomous heavy-equipment fleet: a safety-critical Operator UI and a multi-tenant portal, along with the shared design system powering both. The role focuses on reliable, accessible, high-performance frontend systems used in demanding environments such as machine cabs, control rooms, and field offices. The engineer will set the design system’s architectural direction, including component APIs, accessibility, theming, versioning, deprecation paths, and migration tooling. They will build the Operator UI, including interactive 3D scenes, safety-critical flows, teleoperation controls, and live video streaming, and shape the portal’s multi-tenant authorization, internationalization, and real-time data capabilities. The role also includes delivering maintainable TypeScript software, improving quality and engineering practices, leading reviews and architectural discussions, collaborating across engineering and field teams, investigating recurring defects, and mentoring engineers. The position is based in Seattle. AIM describes its work as building AI-powered autonomous fleets for mining, infrastructure, and defense operations.
