About The Position

Dragos is hiring a senior engineer to build and operate the web application, GraphQL and gRPC APIs, and customer SDKs for its Software and Supply Chain Security product. The role works with real-time security data at scale and makes dense binary-analysis results understandable to security teams. The position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering. Engineers ship and troubleshoot production code and listen to customers; the role includes ownership of code through production.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience building production web applications and their APIs, taking work from idea to delivery with Product, Design, and Engineering; equivalent experience is valued.
  • Experience with React, including hooks, Context, lazy loading, and large component architectures, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with modern frontend tooling, such as testing frameworks, state management, and build tools.
  • Experience with GraphQL, Apollo Client, and Apollo Server on Node.js.
  • Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers, at minimum consuming clients; service design experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with API design, versioning, and schema evolution.
  • Experience building and maintaining client SDKs in multiple languages, such as Python, TypeScript, and Go, including code generation, semantic versioning, and release automation.
  • Experience with Auth0, OAuth 2.0, and JWT flows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data-heavy user interfaces, such as grids, charts, and virtualization, or shared UI component libraries and design systems.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL query patterns and data modeling, GCP Cloud Run and GCS, and Protocol Buffers schema design with buf tooling.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, GitLab CI/CD, feature flag systems such as OpenFeature, and Terraform.
  • Cybersecurity, OT, or ICS experience, or knowledge of SBOM standards and vulnerability identifiers such as CycloneDX, SPDX, and CVE.
  • Responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience driving technical initiatives or improving engineering practices across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship features across the React and TypeScript frontend and the GraphQL and gRPC APIs, from scoping through design, implementation, and deployment.
  • Design and implement GraphQL schema and Protocol Buffers/gRPC contract changes, including versioning and schema evolution, while maintaining compatibility for customers and integrators.
  • Build and maintain Python, TypeScript, and Go client SDKs, including code-generation pipelines, semantic versioning, and release automation.
  • Define contracts with the backend team, whose services are mostly written in Go, and collaborate with Product and Design to turn customer needs into features.
  • Improve frontend performance, accessibility, and observability in owned code; write well-tested and secure code; and provide constructive code reviews.
  • Own production code shipped and work with real-time security data at scale.
