About The Position

Azusa Solutions is seeking a cleared Senior Software Engineer/System Engineer to join its team of consultants. The role supports an ongoing, multi-quarter software development effort through FY27 to productize a mission-focused product suite for deployment beyond the current customer environment and across the broader DoD community. The work involves removing customer-specific dependencies, abstracting environment-specific configurations, and developing interfaces that support authorization workflows and key-management operations across different customer environments. The effort affects clients, the Portal, Proxy services, and OpenBao-based key-management services.

Requirements

Hold an active TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
Be local to the DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia area.
Have 12 or more years of working experience, or 8 years of equivalent work experience in place of the stated degree requirement.
Have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or 8 years of equivalent work experience.
Communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients.
Have experience with C or C++.
Have 8 or more years of Java development experience on both Linux and Windows platforms.
Be proficient in at least one additional high-level language.
Have 5 or more years of cryptographic experience and a good understanding of key management.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a contractor in the Intelligence Community.
Experience migrating code from Low to High.
Eight or more years of experience with modern software development management.
Understanding of Agile methodology.
Five or more years of experience with REST APIs.
Two years of experience with cloud platforms, tools, and administration.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong analytical troubleshooting and performance-evaluation skills.
Effective teamwork, communication, follow-through, motivation, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams.
Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of project or initiative components.
Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
Python, Go, or Rust proficiency; JavaScript is desired.

Responsibilities

Contribute to software development and productization across clients, the Portal, Proxy services, and OpenBao-based key-management services.
Help remove customer-specific dependencies and abstract environment-specific configurations.
Develop interfaces for authorization workflows and key-management operations across customer environments.
Lead changes to build encryption libraries and key-management services.
Apply best practices through collaborative project communication, planning documentation, system testing, and defect resolution.
Manage day-to-day efforts toward project accomplishments.
Participate in project planning and project status communications.
