About the position
The job overview for the Senior Software Engineer position at Memora Health is to develop, support, and iterate frontend and/or backend functionality for the Memora care delivery platform. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams to understand customer pain points and implement solutions, while promoting best practices and code quality. They will also be responsible for managing technical debts and mentoring junior engineers. This role offers the opportunity to work on a rapidly scaling care delivery platform and make a significant impact on healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Technical Lead, fellow engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers, QA, and TechOps to develop, test, secure, iterate, and scale complex frontend and/or backend functionality
- Develop and support patient management dashboard for clinicians to monitor patient care journeys and communicate with patients
- Develop and support care program management dashboard for clients to track program metrics
- Develop and support care program configuration UI to accelerate and streamline client project implementations
- Develop and support platform messaging services and builders to automate patient communications
- Develop data models and APIs for integration with EHR systems
- Ensure access control, security, observability, reliability, performance, and scalability of the Memora platform
- Participate in Engineering On-Call rotation and collaborate with Client Support team to investigate and provide solutions for client support cases
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand customer pain points and implement solutions
- Promote product development best practices, supportability, and code quality
- Manage and address technical debts and escalate as needed
- Write readable, testable, and supportable code in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or Java
- Write and consume RESTful APIs
- Work with relational or NoSQL databases
- Deploy containerized apps
- Practice test-driven development and test automation
- Have experience with scrum methodology
- Mentor junior engineers
- Have a B.S. in Computer Science or related field
- Bonus qualifications include understanding of DevOps practices, experience with security tooling, observability and APM tooling, integration framework, and health tech experience
- Work on a rapidly scaling care delivery platform

Requirements
- 3+ years experience in shipping, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-grade software products
- Disciplined in writing readable, testable, and supportable code in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js (Express), Python (Flask, Django, or FastAPI), or Java.
- Expertise writing, and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
- Experience with containerized app deployments
- Inclination toward test-driven development and test automation
- Experience with scrum methodology
- Excels in mentoring junior engineers
- B.S. in Computer Science or other quantitative fields or related work experience
- Understanding of DevOps practices and technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, CI / CD, test coverage and automation, branch and release management) (Bonus)
- Experience with security tooling in SDLC and Security by Design principles (Bonus)
- Experience with observability and APM tooling (Sumo Logic, Splunk, Sentry, New Relic, Datadog, etc.) (Bonus)
- Experience with an integration framework (Mirth Connect, Mule ESB, Apache Nifi, Boomi, etc..) (Bonus)
- Experience in health tech (Bonus)
- Experience working at a startup (Bonus)
